Client Profile
This client is a significant player in the impact investing ecosystem, with a key objective of catalysing impact investing in Ghana and West Africa. Since the organisation also targets Francophone West Africa, making information on the organisation’s website available in French emerged as crucial in engaging with businesses and investors. To build trust and credibility, the organization needed clear, culturally relevant communication that would make their services such as investment portfolio management among others, accessible to a broader audience.
Project Scope
The organisation sought the services of Bolingo Consult to carry out full localization of its digital platform, developed to connect high-growth innovative businesses from Africa to investors and transaction advisors and also to connect investors with limited partners. Contents on the website and digital platform included text, images, presentations, contracts, dashboards and videos.
Our approach
We followed five key steps to deliver on this project, namely content analysis, terminology management, translation and review, desktop publishing (DTP), quality assurance and linguistic sign-off.
- Content analysis: The assigned Project Manager (PM) examined the content to determine the various steps that needed to carry out the translation and also ensure that the volume is in alignment with the client’s timelines.
- Terminology management: The team identified key words and came up with a bilingual glossary with approval from the client. This ensured harmonization of terminology
- Desktop publishing: This enabled us to ensure that the formatting of the document was maintained.
- Translation and review: The translators and reviewers were briefed on the client requirements and specifications and given access to work on the project.
Quality assurance and Linguistic sign-off: Following the translation and review steps, the PM conducted Quality Assurance (QA) on the translation. This involves checking for issues with spacing, punctuation, capitalization, repetitions, untranslated segments, etc.
Outcome
The localized website saw a significant increase in traffic and engagement from the organisation’s French-speaking audience, leading to more inquiries and stronger brand recognition.
